What is changing with Online Banking security requirements?

Changes as of June 16th:  Previously, each user had up to five opportunities to correctly answer the security challenge questions.  The new process will provide users with three opportunities to correctly answer one of their identified security challenge questions.  Users who do not correctly answer their security challenge question will be locked out of Internet Banking and only your institution can unlock or reset the MFA setting for that user.

Please do not re-enroll in Internet Banking if you have trouble logging into your account. 

The login process will no longer display your selected image and pass phrase (As of  May 19th).

Will the new security make it harder for me to login? Your login will remain simple and convenient, because the additional layers of security are usually transparent to you.

How does it work? Your Access ID and Password are still the most important keys to accessing your account, but they are just the beginning.  We’ll also look at the device you are using to access your account.  If it is a device we haven’t seen you use before - a different computer or a new table for example - we’ll ask you one of the Security Questions you chose during enrollment.  That provides added protection in case your Access ID and Password have been compromised.  We also look at ‘geo-location’ factors.  If the login is coming from an unusual location, again, we’ll ask you to answer one of your Challenge questions.

How do I know I have a safe connection? When you are logging in, our Extended Validation Certificate will display as a “green bar” in your browser’s address bar.  It is a known and trusted way to verify the authenticity of a website.We wanted to notify you of these changes so you will be aware of the added security being applied to online banking accounts.

Union Bank has entered into a contract with Welch ATM to 'brand' the ATM at
the new RITE AID in New Martinsville.

Through this association, Welch ATM has offered our customers 'surcharge free access'
to an area of ATM machines in their stores.

This area includes the ATM machines in the following cities~
Parkerburg, Benwood, Bridgeport, Sutton, Harrisville, Moundsville, Wheeling & Clarksburg.
